On the heels of Valentine’s Day this week, “Love” is in the air!
Literally, all we need is love. Picture this: If everyone thought loving thoughts every moment of the day, imagine what kind of world this would be. Rhonda Byrne has an entire series of books on how loving thoughts can completely change your life. Check out The Secret’s; The Magic, The Power and The Secret of Love.
I’m not talking about love in the sense of being with someone else, I mean giving loving thoughts to EVERYTHING! Breathe love into whatever you want. It literally, in the literal sense of literal, will change your life.
You can have everything you want in life and the way to get it all doesn’t cost a thing. Think loving thoughts… they’re free!
Thoughts Really Can Change Your Life
Try these steps for one week and let me know how they changed your life:
1. Each night, write down what you love about something.
2. Really think deeply about how much you love it.
3. Give gratitude.
4. Trust the process.
5. Sit back and hold on tightly. Love WILL change your life.
Now, here’s the challenging part of this quest. Say something or someone has agitated you this week. Give it (or them) love. Then watch YOUR life transform just by changing your thoughts to love.
Here’s Meredith now to give us her take on love this *amorous* week!!
Thank you, Erika!!
In my younger years, I never really cared much for Valentine’s Day, whether I was in a relationship or not. I felt that it was more of a “Hallmark” holiday. In my opinion, if you are in a romantic relationship, then it doesn’t matter what day you expressed love, you are always showing love.
Truth be told, I was also always way more focused on my birthday which is four days after Valentine’s Day and thought that was more important. As I got older, my thoughts on Valentine’s Day have shifted, but the thoughts on my birthday have stayed the same. I love celebrating my birthday.
The Shift Towards Love
I think my former cynical thoughts about Valentine’s Day were because I thought that it was a day for lovers and again my opinion that if you are in a romantic relationship, it doesn’t matter what day you expressed love. I think that is the way Valentine’s Day used to be marketed and celebrated.
However, it is important to remember that love comes in so many different forms: love between spouses, love between partners, love between friends; love between parents and children; love for our pets (our furry family members), and so many other relationships. I think that this is the way Valentine’s Day is now marketed and celebrated.
Celebrate Love
Valentine’s Day is a wonderful day to remind us of these different forms of love. These types of love should and need to be celebrated. We all need more love. The thing about love is that it has no quantifiable amount. Love never stops growing. When I adopted my two cats, I felt my heart grow. I have a dear friend, and Valentine’s Day is her favorite holiday. She has been dealing with some difficulties over the last few weeks, so I decided to send her a gift and tell her that she is being strong and coping well. I didn’t have to do this, but it brought me joy to do this for my friend. An example of love between friends.
Love For Yourself
There is one relationship that I didn’t mention above, and it is the most important relationship, so I saved it for here. The relationship is the one that you have with yourself. Absolutely nothing is more important than the love that you have for yourself.
It is so important to love yourself. If you don’t love yourself, who will love you?
Not loving yourself results in so much negativity. If you don’t love yourself, you will be critical of yourself, you will end up in the wrong relationships, you may end up in the wrong job or career. You will doubt yourself and have low self-esteem. You will become complacent and won’t want to change.
I agree with Erika, Valentine’s Day is a great reminder to let love in. If we spread love wherever we went, how much nicer and more pleasant would our world be? You truly never know what someone is going through, give them a little love and it will come back to you in such powerful ways.
Think loving thoughts because they are free and remember to love yourself. Let us know how your life changes for the better.
